How do I weigh my pet?

The bathroom-scale trick

Step on a bathroom scale and note your weight, then step on again holding your pet. The difference is their weight, which is easiest for pets too wriggly to stand on a scale alone.

The carrier trick

Weigh the carrier (or a basket or box) on its own, then weigh it again with your cat inside and subtract. Great for cats who won't hold still.

At the vet

Most clinics have a walk-on floor scale and are happy to let you stop in for a quick weigh-in, often free.

Keep it consistent

Weigh at the same time of day (before a meal is ideal) so you're comparing like with like over time.

Don't know the exact date? That's okay, just pick your best guess. An approximate date is fine.
